Scarlett B. Smith

Scarlett is an associate attorney with Murphy & Grantland. Her practice focuses on insurance coverage.

Scarlett graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she received her J.D. in 2024. She was inducted as a member of the Order of the Coif, having achieved a class rank within the top 10% of her class. While in law school, Scarlett served as member of the South Carolina School of Law Moot Court team and the President of the Christian Legal Society. She made Dean’s List and received the CALI award for earning the highest grade in Torts, Property, Criminal Procedure, Children and the State, and Fiduciary Administration.

A Rock Hill native, Scarlett earned her bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University where she double-majored in English and Modern Languages, with a focus on the Spanish Language. She graduated Summa Cum Laude as a member of the Winthrop Honors Association, wherein she completed a Thesis and additional Honors classwork.

Scarlett and her husband, Roddey, are active members of First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Carolina. In her free time, Scarlett enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercising, reading mystery novels, and baking sweet treats for others.
