Associate

Joseph Cantey Heath “J.C” is an associate with Murphy and Grantland. His practice focuses on general litigation defense, insurance defense, and automobile defense. Prior to becoming an associate with Murphy and Grantland, J.C. served as the law clerk for the Honorable Benjamin H. Culbertson, circuit court judge for the 15th Judicial Circuit, and practiced at Nettles, Turbeville & Reddeck in his hometown of Lake City, SC.

J.C. graduated from the University of South Carolina where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business administration and double majored in management and marketing. In college, J.C. was a member of Kappa Alpha Order and worked as a legislative aide in the South Carolina House of Representatives for Representative Roger K. Kirby. After graduating from the University of South Carolina, J.C. attended the University of South Carolina School of Law.

J.C. is a proud native of Lake City, South Carolina. In his free time, J.C. enjoys hunting, fishing, playing golf, and watching South Carolina football.
