E. Raymond Moore III

Shareholder

Ray Moore is a shareholder with Murphy & Grantland. His civil defense practice is focused primarily on products and professional liability, insurance defense and coverage issues. Ray represents clients in both state and federal district courts and he is a certified arbitrator and mediator.

Originally from Augusta, Georgia, Ray graduated as a First Honor Graduate and summa cum laude from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. While at The Citadel, Ray served as Regimental Commander as well as Chairman of the Honor Committee and the Presidential Advisory Committee. He graduated from The University of South Carolina School of Law, cum laude. In law school, Ray served on the editorial board of the South Carolina Law Review, was a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe and Order of the Coif and was the recipient of the Irving Steinberg Award.

Ray is a member of the Richland County Bar Association, South Carolina Bar, Defense Research Institute, South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association, American Bar Association and the American Society for Pharmacy Law. Ray is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, the service’s highest possible rating.

Ray and his wife Christina have four children. Ray serves as a deacon at Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia. Ray enjoys sports and sports writing and is an outdoors enthusiast.
