Brian Craven joined Murphy & Grantland in July 2019. A 20-year veteran of the insurance arena, he now concentrates his practice on construction defects, premises liability, and insurance defense.
Although originally starting his practice in Chicago, IL in disability and life insurance defense, Brian has spent the majority of his career as in-house legal counsel and as an officer for a Fortune 500 enterprise. During that time, Brian managed legal issues associated with litigation, compliance, marketing, operations, privacy, and cybersecurity. Upon returning to private practice, Brian has furthered his varied background with construction defect litigation, products liability, and even environmental and toxic tort liability. Brian also spends his time as an adjunct professor, teaching MBA classes related to risk management, insurance, and employee benefits.
Brian is a proud native of Camden, SC, and he and his wife, Rikki (of Chattanooga, TN), have two children, Sloane and Dallas. Brian is committed to community service, having served on the governor-appointed board of the Children’s Trust of SC for eight years, as a volunteer with the South Carolina Military Department, and as a deacon of First Baptist Church of Columbia where he and his family remain active.
