Murphy & Grantland’s co-founder J.R. Murphy has been elected as a Fellow in the American college of Coverage Extracontractual Counsel (ACCEC). A nominee for Fellow must be licensed to practice in the highest court of their respective state and have at least 15 consecutive years of being substantially engaged in the practice of insurance law.  Nominees who meet, and continue to meet, the qualification requirements are voted on by the College’s Board of Regents.

In response to this honor, Murphy said, “It is humbling to be elected into such an outstanding group of attorneys who share my commitment and passion for insurance coverage counseling and litigation.”

With his election, J.R. joins an organization composed of the preeminent coverage and extracontractual counsel in the North America.  Established in 2012, the College represents the interests of both insurers and policyholders and is dedicated to the creative, ethical and efficient resolution of disputes involving insurance coverage and extracontractual damages.  In addition, the College is dedicated to improving the civility and quality of the practice of insurance law.
